So here I am - dragged kicking and screaming into the new world of the internet. I must admit I don't like computers. They look horrible - all dirty cream and keyboardy. I learned Pitman when I was 16, but I was fired after three months and that was that. One could say that I am computer hostile! So, Trudi will be pressing the buttons. I do have a rough idea what goes on. Trudi's more computer friendly and occasionally shows me postings from the Musil's mailing list. Sometimes people get it so wrong that I want to leap in and argue the point, but the feeling soon passes. Trudi is hesitant to be anything but a lurker because she feels any input on her part would change the dynamics of the list and be manipulative. Frankly, we've been wondering if an Ian Hunter web site was really necessary. The outstanding sites created by Justin, Sven, Phil, Adrian, Jay, Wim, Dieter and the rest have done a brilliant job keeping the flag flying all these years. I doubt we can do better. Besides, I don't have the time and I hate planning; so can we keep this informal and I'll pop up now and again. The thought of Sunday mornings with Ian fills me with dread! I'm hoping that Trudles will get into it and be my go-between, 'cause I can't become a slave to the machine. It'll put me off working on my new album - which I have almost finished writing - 11 tracks so far. Hopefully it will be out next year. Is it different from the last one? Yes. I can tell you it rocks more than the last, is more political and that I'm very happy with the songs so far. I can't say who'll be on the album because I haven't got it sorted yet, but I'm working on it. As some of you already know, I am doing a few gigs in England in May with Darrell, Cuddles, Ian, Trevor and Steve to support the Sony double set, Once Bitten Twice Shy that's coming out on May 15th. I've just heard the final masters and it's good - as is the artwork. Campbell Devine has relentlessly campaigned for this set and is to be congratulated for bringing it to fruition. Will I play in the U.S.? Nobody has come out of the woodwork and asked me, but if Sony releases the double CD here perhaps a New York City gig would not be out of the question. Well, this is it and God only knows what we're going to do with it! I can't help wishing I was a bit more sociable - but I'm not, so talk amongst yourselves and I'll try my best to accommodate you now and again. Thanks for stopping by and we'll try to keep you abreast of what's happening - when and if - anything happens. I'd like to thank Todd, our WebMaster, for putting it all together. You've done a spliffing job here! So------ we're up and running! IH Home
