| Wrote... ian, i first was turned on to your music in 1992 when i read joe elliott praising your work. i want to say that if it is possible i am now a bigger fan than he is. you wrote in horses mouth that youll come to australia if asked well we're asking. most of my friends dont understand my obsession with all things hunter/mott relatedbut thats all part of the fun isnt it . for the last couple of years i took great pride in the fact that with my long curly blonde hair and shades i looked just like you.the hairs gone but the shades remain much to the distaste of everyone around me-apparantly thier not COOL enough , who cares, im 25, ill do what i want and ill definitely carry the hunter flag in australia. too many songs and lyrics for me to say what they've meant to me over the years but your lyrics, poems(shades off) and the way you bring them across have helped me thru many a hard time. BOY , THE DEBT, NEED YOUR LOVE , TOO MUCH , BASTARD ,STANDING IN MY LIGHT some of my favourites. i cried when i first heard MICHEAL PICASSO. do you ever do GOING THRU THE MOTIONS (bonnie tyler did it ,83) live ,or any plans to release it yourself . its a stunning piece of work. keep rockin ian, see you in Oz ! peace troy | |

| Wrote... Ian, just wanted to let you know how much I enjoy your "horses mouth" piece! Good stuff. Also, just wanted to share with you & all your fans the first time you blew this man's mind. During your 74' tour you played at Winterland in San Francisco. Your support acts included Aerosmith & Bachman Turner Overdrive. From your opening excerts of American Pie into the full frontal assault of Golden Age of Rock'n Roll - I became & still am a huge fan. I've seen many shows over the ages (and still do) & the ones that leave the most impact are the above mentioned show & various shows with Mick Ronson. That dude literally made me cry with his guitar. Hell, one night (a San Rafael show) I cried twice, once during Mick's solo & once during your piano intro to Irene Wilde. Anyway, enough of the old retro. In short, thanks for the music, the great book & the strange connection that has lasted a lifetime. | |

| Wrote... Hi guys, I've been a visitor to this site for a while, but just came in via a link in an article on The Sydney Morning Herald's website (from Sept 27th - written when the "Once Bitten Twice Shy" compilation came out here). I've already asked Ian this by e-mail, but I thought I'd put the idea up on the guest book and see what other people think. Why don't you come to Australia, Ian? There are four messages (inlcuding this one) from people in Oz on this page of the guestbook alone. People would love to see you here. If it's a bit costly (and touring Australia can be for overseas acts) then maybe you could just bring your guitar and do an unplugged set. Ray Davies did it a couple of years back and he went down very well. Obviously we'd love to see you with a full rockin' band, but if that's not feasible, we'd understand, we'd just love to see you. Maybe if the new album sells a couple of hundred copies on this continent, you'll think about it? There are a lot of people in Sydney and Melbourne (and beyond) who appreciate good rock and roll and love it when great rock and rollers make the effort to undergo that long plane ride to get here. Give it some thought, mate. | |

I can't find a copy of it anywhere on the web. I've literally grown up listening to you all my 25 yrs. It just isn't fair your special album with Mick (God Bless him) isn't being printed. | Wrote... Ian: Been a fan since the early 70's. Caught your act at the Cleveland Agora, Palace Theater, Richfield Coliseum. The Agora show in 1979 (soon after the relaease of Never Alone w/ Schiz) was the best concert I have ever attended. The energy in that place that night was unbelievable. I was standing right in front of the stage. What an incredible high! ( and i was completely sober) You and your bands performance was just fantastic. I remember Mick breaking a guiter string at the beginning of FBI. It was very quickly and skillfully replaced and from that point on there was just no stopping you's. You and your bandmates truly left it all out on the stage that night. I'll never forget it. Looking forward to the new album. Thanks for all of the great music and performances throughout the years. | |
