Can't tell you how much I love your music -timeless. And what a thrill it was to purchase a t-shirt from Trudi at the Bowery Ballroom, although I couldn't think of a thing to say to her. I can truly say it was one of your best efforts, Happy belated. Also got Andy's autograph in Hoboken after his set with WillieNile. I think he was genuinely surprised that i recognized him from the BB. Thanx for all the tunes!!

Hello Ian, Bought "Mott the Hoople" in 1970 because of the cover(may have been a little high at the time). Took it home and played it 7 times in a row and have been hooked ever since. Can't begin to tell you how much enjoyment your records and shows have brought but sure you've heard this a million times. Haven't seen you since moving from Detroit 11 yrs ago. Am trying to schedule a family trip to Europe when school gets out in June and would love to co-incide with your tour. Will you still be there in June? Also, saw Andy when he toured w/Mellencamp. GREAT player, can't wait to see you play w/him.

Ian: Been a fan forever. Saw you first with Mott at a small arena in Pittsburgh, PA around 1972 or 1974. You were playing with The New York Dolls and Blue Oyster Cult, if memory serves me correctly. Next saw you with Mick at The Syria Mosque in Pittsburgh - it has been torn down now but it had the best acoustics in the world. That concert was one of the best I've ever seen - you had just released your first solo album. Saw you a couple more times - once was in a small club in Pittsburgh about 2 years before Mick passed. I was in the front row with my wife sitting at a table and you were literally singing in my face. I think your bass player was plastered and you were really pissed off at him. Cut the concert short. Didn't even do "Dudes." Wish you success with the new album. Didn't know you were in Connecticut. A company I used to work for was headquartered in Stamford and I was up there all the time. Seems really congested to me but if you want to get into the city, it's only a matter of a short commute. All the best and hope you put Pittsburgh on the tour. George Kane

Well, Yep, I can remember my first Mott gig in a hall in Potters Bar when I was sixteen (1970) followed by a whole string of others too numerous to mention. My old man cut up rough about the times I was getting in, so I left home for London, a life of work at the BBC ( where I met the missus) and going to Mott Concerts, along with Jim, Kelv and Little Mick. When I look back they were life forming experiences and important milestones for me. But as Ian would say, whats done is done, so true, it the looking forward that matters, cant wait for the album and tour in 2001

What can I say? You've been an inspiration to me since I first heard Brain Capers. I still find myself defending you to those who say your a Dylan/Lennon "clone". Don't worry I set them ALL straight. I just play them "Looking Glass". They shut up...lol.. Many people compare my music to yours. I find that very flattering and an accomplished songwriter. Thank you for your songs, the inspiration, and for still "beating-that-path". I appreciate you. You rock!

Dear Ian Seems like only yesterday that i popped with my mate Brian into Air London on our lunch break where you were recording "Ian Hunter" and Mick and yourself kindly autographed my Mott songbook. "Crossed some mighty oceans" since then "and had a few divides", but I keep buying the records and as always im looking forward to the next one. Don't normally write to folks i dont know, but somehow you feel like family - weird! - Just want to wish you and yours a happy Christmas from another All-American Alien Boy! Oh and my wife Georgina said to tell you she thinks "Waterlow" is the best song she ever heard in her life - as for me I think youve a few more up your sleeve, so i'll wait a few more decades till i pick my favourite. God bless.

Ian...Big fan of yours and MTH since early 70's...Saw u at Cleveland Public Hall 75...OBTS is a great collection, looking forward to Part 2 and the new one...I had to download Artful Dodger from Napster...It was driving me crazy knowing it was out there but I couldn't get it until Napster came along...What is your opinion of Napster? By the way "Great Expectations" got alot of air-play in Cleveland and some of the Sport radio stations still use bits from "Cleveland Rocks". I have to admit I was a little dissappointed in your Letterman appearance...I felt you should've been headlining the show!! Take Care and Happy Holidays PS..."Death May Be Your Santa Claus" is still my favorite Xmas Carol.

Hi Ian....Just wanted to tell you how much I have loved listening to your music over the years. You are the best songwriter in the business. I have been a fan since the early days of MTH, when the first four MTH albums were "imports": in Canada (have them and all the rest of the MTH and your solo albums that have been available in Canada, I even have "Overnight Angels"!! Saw MTH in London, Ontario during the 74 tour, and then saw the Hunter/Ronson band at the Fox Theatre in Detroit in 75, and saw you and Roy Young here in Kitchener in 87. The three best concerts I have ever attended. It is a shame your "Dirty Laundry" and "Artful Dodger" albums aren't available in Canada. I need them for the collection. Have your book, "Reflections of a Rock Star", also purchased the original, "Diary of a Rock Star" when it first came out, but it is "gone" now. Just purchased OBTS to go with the MTHC from Sony. OBTS is a great collection, very happy to see my favourite ballad "The Outsider" included. Disappointed that "Overnight Angels" or "The Loner" didn't make the cut. Oh well couldn't get all of my favourites on there anyway, 'cause I love them all. Thanks Ian. Keep on Rockin'
