The Contest

To promote Ian Hunter's album Rant, Fuel 2000 and Borders sponsored the Concert In Your Home With Ian Hunter contest. mail-in entry forms were available at Borders book stores, and entries were also accepted over the internet. The deadline for entries was Sept. 30, 2001.

The Winner

Bruce Kilgour of Rancho Cucamonga, CA was the winner. Bruce is a long-time fan who has seen Ian and Mott many times over the years. Bruce's win was also a win for long-suffering fans on the West Coast, because Ian worked in a free live appearance at Amoeba Records in Hollywood CA the night before Bruce's show.

The Concert

Bruce's once-in-a-lifetime show happened on 23 March 2002, when Ian Hunter and guitarist James Mastro spent four hours at Bruce's house. The hour-long live set consisting of Once Bitten Twice Shy, Death of a Nation, Ships, All the Young Dudes, American Spy, I Wish I Was Your Mother, and Michael Picasso.
